Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team is a registered charity.
· Last year (2001) we attended 67 incidents.
· It costs £40000-£50000 per year to run LAMRT.· We are funded entirely by public donation.Base redevelopment: We are currently seeking funds to redevelop Low Fold into a state-of-the-art 21st century facility. The estimated cost is £370,000. We intend to raise this by lottery, business and private support. |

Low Fold in Ambleside is the operations centre. It comprises the garage, operations room, communications and computer rooms, as well as a kitchen and rest room if needed by friends or family of victims. There is also a forward base in Great Langdale The team runs four Landrovers - two main rescue vehicles, one all-purpose standby and one converted as an ambulance. |

The team works closely with the Police, Ambulance service and are also supported by RAF MRTs. In addition we work closely with members of the Search & Rescue Dogs Association (Lake District). We, with support of search dogs, routinely initiate large-scale searches for 'missing persons'. For more information, please go to the LAMRT website. |
